Government Schemes Available

1. National Horticulture Board (NHB)

 

The NHB provides a Credit Linked Back Ended Subsidy for construction, expansion, and modernization of cold storage facilities for horticulture products. Eligible projects generally include:

  • Multi-chamber cold storage 
  • Controlled Atmosphere (CA) Storage 
  • Modified Atmosphere (MA) Storage 
  • Ripening Chambers 
  • Pre-Cooling Units 
  • Pack Houses 
  • Modernization of existing cold storage facilities 
  • Onion Storage Structures 
  • Reefer Infrastructure (under approved components)

Projects are generally supported for cold storage capacities ranging from 5,000 MT to 10,000 MT and above as per applicable guidelines and technical standards. 

2. Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)

 

The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund is a financing scheme designed to support post-harvest infrastructure including:

  • Cold Storages 
  • CA Storages 
  • Pack Houses 
  • Warehouses 
  • Sorting & Grading Units 
  • Processing Units 
  • Cold Chain Logistics 
  • Integrated Supply Chain Infrastructure  


Financial Benefits


  • Interest Subvention: 3% per annum 
  • Loan Tenure: Up to 7 years benefit period 
  • Collateral-Free Loan: Up to ₹2 Crore (subject to lending institution norms) 
  • Project Financing through Scheduled Banks, NBFCs, Cooperative Banks and Financial Institutions.
